A Romantic Postmodern Buddy Road Comedy

SYNOPSIS

Pathos Bill is a comedy with the tone of Swingers and the scope of Easy Rider. The hero, Bill Hedges, lost the only serious girlfriend in his life, Linda, when she left him suddenly and without explanation. In the yeasince, he has been lonely and apathetic. His fatalistic attitude about meeting new women has become a self-fulfilling prophecy, making Bill lonelier and lonelier, and less and less likely to change.

He is prodded out of his rut by Cosmo, an old high school pal with a big red convertible, who takes Bill on a cross-country odyssey of adventure-seeking that quickly devolves into a comedy of errors. Along the way, Bill gets shot in Missouri, abandoned by Cosmo in Oklahoma, beat up in Texas and broken down in New Mexico. Finally reaching Las Vegas, he confronts Linda, the lost love who broke his heart in the first place. Complicating this is Bill's budding on-line relationship with Maja, his house-sitter, a home improvement-obsessed topless dancer and art model with whom Bill communicates via e-mail from the road.

Bill's comically harrowing physical journey across the country mirrors the emotional journey he must take to get over his broken heart and get on with his life.
