And the rest . . .
Friday - Vendredi – My last day

Screening day. Finally updated site. In the Kodak screening area – Helped Gooch, a short film director from London sort out the settings of the plasma TV. Also showed my DP reel to a few people. I wish I had thought to do this a week ago.

Good screening. Crowd loved it. Got way more laughs than the Bill Plimpton shorts. I had them show it both before and after the Plimpton program. People watched it twice. They even showed it a third time for Julia who arrived late. After, in the hallway, I Burned CD of photos from the Indian Party for Aslan, who had come just for that. (He’d seen my film on Tuesday.) Melissa, who went ape over the film, took me to Orange Beach where we met her boyfriend Mark. How did I not know about this place? They even had an oxygen bar.

Tried and failed to get tix for Polanski film. Put on tux anyway. Majestic Bar. Patron Boat. Michael made a big deal about getting us on board, but since I know Guy, it would’ve been no problem. Very classy. Tequila w/Melissa, the 3 polish girls and more new friends. Patron had a floor show on a stage on the dock – Dancers, moving lights and everything, with the harbor in twilight in the background and the full moon in the sky. Walking back up the port after that party was one of the best photo ops of the festival. With Melissa and Simone on one arm, and Sylvia and Bernadettte on the other, we strolled toward the Croisette. Some paparazzi photographed us, and I’m counting on Melissa to get me some prints. Back to the Majestic Bar. Tried to get to the Noga to say good night to JP & Justin before their party ended, but I missed them, just like in Park City. If you’re reading this, guys, thanks for letting me be a part of your festival. I hope we can do it again.

Took a last look at the view from the Terrace and saw Amy leading her party into the “VIP Room” Disco below. Rode down the elevator to catch them, and was lead in by Michael. Beautiful people, but incredibly loud. Even with free VIP booze I couldn’t take it and split.

Crepe de Nutelly et Banane on the Croisette. Petit Majestic. Saw Jeremy and some of the other kids from the American Pavilion. Taxi Stand – No Taxi. Walked back, feet too numb to care. Packed. Got downstairs before the cab arrived at 5am. Haven’t yet thought of anything I’ve left behind. Shared a taxi with Julia to the Nice airport. Said goodbye to Julia, and goodbye to France. Now I can’t wait until next year.
